Flowerseed: A Recycled Paper Company
In my previous blog What Is Capstone? I describe my senior capstone course as an art major.
Description
My project will be a recycled paper company called Flowerseed that creates everyday stationery products with recycled, compostable and eco-friendly materials.
Evocative Words
Fresh, Natural, Renewable, Biodegradable, Friendly, Clean, Handmade, Innovative, Classic, and Simple.
Future
In five years, it would look like a midwestern paper company, organized and with multiple lines of environmental products.
Eventually, there would be a regional expansion of taking in recyclables and using them in the paper product craft.
Business Model
It would make money selling its line of products, also through donations.
Designed Products
- Paper Notebooks
- Pens & Pencils
- Stationary Gift box
- Mobile Ordering App/Website
Purpose
- It exists because more human products should be focused on its ability to decompose after our use as well as using pre-made recyclable materials rather than creating more waste.
- It would be meaningful because instead of contributing to waste, these products will aid composition processes in landfills.
- People will want it because the products themselves are attractive and useful while still combating our waste problem.
Target Types
My target groups are split into three different kinds of people. Check out more detailed information on my target types here.
Tree Huggers
- The tree-hugger target type is the type of people who see the damage humans have done to the environment and may fear for where the trajectory of corporate America will take us. They want to instill a new way of living throughout the lives of people to become more aware of what kinds of things we indulge in, and how it affects the environment when we’re done with it.
2. Family Oriented
- The family-oriented target type is the type of people who value instilling their children or family at the center of their values. Parents who understand the value of recycling materials wish to have their children reprehend the same environmental habits at a young age.
3. Day-To-Day
- The day-to-day target type is the type of people who look for casualty in the chaos. People like this look for sustainable solutions to their worries. Making small, insightful choices in what kinds of businesses to support plays into their impact on the environment and societal influence.
Why it Matters to Me
This project matters to me because I wish to see more things geared towards environmental aid. Paper is one of those things that will not go away, and the more we retreat from using trees as a main source for paper and more recyclables, I feel we will have more insight on how to reuse our waste in a way that can benefit us and Earth.
